About

Haworth RDA is a non-profit making charity established in 2001 with one rider, one pony and three volunteers. In the last nineteen years we have grown significantly and now cater for over 160 + riders, have 11 specially trained horses and over 25 regular volunteers.

We offer people with physical and learning disabilities horse riding and stable management lessons throughout the year. The minimum age for our riders is four years old and we have no upper age limit. Horse riding improves core strength, flexibility, suppleness of limb and develops fine and gross motor skills. In addition, social interaction increases confidence, self-esteem and social skills.

All lessons are led by qualified RDA group instructors and focus on learning in a fun and friendly way with the playing of games, riding to music and verbal interaction. We have access to a physiotherapist and have a Child Development Officer, both of which can custom fit riding plans to each individual rider’s needs ensuring maximum therapeutic benefit.
